wednesday night…

we met all the girls for dinner at Sandi Pointe tonight – Amelia was a little fussy as the bottom teeth beside her first two are coming in – she’s trooper though!  They had a jazz band there and as they were warming up we walked over to look…she had been moving in her seat to the music and dancing with Keisha before… She walked up to the band and instead of being scared she waved and blew kisses at them!  She wanted to hang out in front of the band the whole dinner and carried on until I would let her down and she could walk over – She danced and shook her little booty to the music…she is such a doll – I can’t believe how much she loves music…

When we got home we got out pjs on, read books, had a batoo (bottle) and listened to the frogs (they were so loud and happy because it has rained the past two days) She kept making this ‘oh my gosh’ face with her mouth open and surprised eyes! Pointing to the window when she heard the frogs…they were pretty loud!  It was one of my most precious moments with her…rocking her listening to the frogs and enjoying the fresh air…*sniff*…

wednesday…

this morning Amelia was playing with her “big-girl” shoes (chucks) – she loves carrying them around by the laces and putting them in…then removing them – from all the kitchen cabinets she can reach – while she mumbles to herself…anyway – I bent down to talk to her and she threw her arms around my neck and patted my back with her little hands…so sweet

Also she tried successfully to use a straw this morning…I was drinking my morning protein shake and she wanted some – I showed her what to do and after a few times she did it!

my light…

My baby turned ONE today.

It was easily the most incredible and most difficult year in of my life.

Time seemed to both creep and fly, impossibly, at the same time.

My heart burst open daily.

Baby girl, the light within me bows to the light within you.

“too-tle!”

Amelia was taking a bath last night – every night we go over all the animals she pulls out of her bath toy bag…She held up the small green turtle – I said “tur-tle!” and Amelia immediately said “too-tle”  – Do you believe it!  Besides, Momma, Dada  and Dodo (for Feedot) this is her one of her first words…that isn’t a family member!

i try to draw p…

i try to draw pictures for Amelia every night in her baths…she likes to grab the bath crayons and cram them in, using her two little teeth to chip pieces off…tonight was red night in the tub…we do a different color every night – Chris drew an apple and I drew a heart…she then took the crayon and started drawing on the walls herself!! The cutest little sketchy marks you ever did see! Take a look we think she’s destined for artistic greatness…it’s very obvious! I can’t wait to take her to the Van Gogh exhibit in a few weeks!! heart…
